GDA goes Earth Action

How can Earth observation data help development practitioners make more informed decisions and deliver greater impact?
The GDA goes Earth Action: Empowering the Use of Geospatial Data for Smarter Decision-Making workshop, organized by the European Space Agency (ESA) from September 22 to 23, provides an opportunity to reflect on lessons learned and explore the future of Earth observation (EO) integration in international development programs.
Participants will examine approaches for scaling EO-enabled solutions across the development value chain, from strategic planning and project design to implementation, monitoring and decision-making. The program will also highlight opportunities to strengthen institutional capacity and accelerate the operational adoption of EO through global public goods, technical assistance, and collaborative partnerships.
The workshop will be complemented by a specialized training program from September 24 to 25, co-organized by ESA in collaboration with the World Bank Group Institute for Economic Development, the Data Academy, and the Center for Development Data, on the use of EO data in fragility, conflict, and crisis contexts.
