World Development Report 2025: Standards for Development - Tokyo
The Institute for Economic Development, in partnership with JICA Ogata Sadako Research institute for Peace and Development and the Department of International Cooperation - Graduate School of Toyo Eiwa University, invites you to a presentation of the World Development Report 2025: Standards for Development, in Tokyo.
The event will explore the report's key themes, including the performance gap that standards can create, the compliance burden on firms, and the underrepresentation of low- and middle-income countries in shaping the international standards they must follow. The discussion will focus on practical recommendations for both national governments and the global community to ensure that international standards serve as a blueprint for inclusive prosperity rather than a barrier to development.
